I have discovered the problem with writing articles during show season is that there never seems to be enough time for both. I finally got a chance between things to fire off a few lines.

Firstly, Barry (Mr. MGA), Bob Swanson and myself headed down to Portland for the "T Club" annual swap meet. Boy, was that fantastic! Not only did we all find stuff that we needed, the prices were so good that I was able to buy nearly everything that I needed for my Lotus street legal racer car in parking lotcars for the price I would expect to pay for one good instrument up here in the Colonies. Obviously people were cleaning out their shops for the first time in many years, I picked up mint condition wooden door caps for the "A Coupe" for eight dollars. I would not be able to buy the wood to make new ones for that. I was able to pick up the missing instruments for the coupe and my "B" roadster for the princely sum of $10.00 .....and yes they work!

As usual Barry was able to home in on the jewels he needed as if by magic. One vendor in particular was able to cough up stuff for Barry that he had been looking for at prices that I would be too embarrassed to repeat. After having been involved with "A"'s for many years, we have only come across the elusive twin cam parts once. Well, this time not only did a twin cam wheel appear, we found a total of seven. Barry came away with a pair for his car, which needs everything else, and a good rapport with the owner of another set.

1960's Tire featuring a removable treadBob seemed to enjoy himself and was more concerned with finding a new home for "our" Magnette rather than picking up anything else. A few books seemed to be in his possession on the trip home however. Many thanks go to him from Barry and myself for the ride down in his luxo-truck.

Our Internet site has garnered a lot of interest to date. More, in fact, than the previous two years the club has been around. Seven new members have joined or attempted to join since being "on-line". AN IMPORTANT NOTE, however, is if you haven't had a return email from me with in four days of your joining, please email me and send your car and personal info in the conventional manner. For some reason the submission form has had a mind of its own and two members, J. R. Arens and Stephen Halkett have gone off into the vapour. I don't want you to think Morris PickupI don't care. Come the end of July I should have a comprehensive membership list together to send out to everyone so we can see what other cars are out there. More than once I have come across a sister car (next in line) out of blind luck.

The follow-up articles are on-line for the articles on Barry's car and my main one on how to find the right car for you. So, check them out and feel free to give me feed back. P.S. Barry has dug up some more supercharger stuff to put in the "ezine". This should be of interest to Alan who is restoring his 1956 roadster with a Judson Supercharger.

Until next time, Keep Motoring
